Caixa Capital, Portugal’s leading Venture Capital and Private Equity firm, announced the successful exit of its investment in Infrapar, a leading company responsible for the development of a photovoltaic (PV) portfolio in Portugal.
Since inception, Infrapar established 7 special purpose vehicles to set up solar photovoltaic power plants across the center and the south of Portugal.
Having originally invested in 2014 at the launch of the company, Caixa Capital worked closely with Infrapar´s management and provided funding to help it expand its portfolio while maintaining high capital and operational efficiency.
Stephan Morais, Executive Board Member of Caixa Capital noted: “Portugal has a strong track record in renewable energy, particularly in hydro and wind, but increasingly in solar too. It was a pleasure to support the creation of a leading player in the solar space and we are very happy with our investment.”
Afonso Proença, Founder and CEO of Infrapar, said: “Caixa Capital was fundamental to launching the company, and their flexibility and knowledge was key to our success. We thank Caixa Capital for their collaboration and continuous support. They have once again proved to be great partners.”
